SAMMY HAGAR To Get Driving Lessons From NASCAR's KURT BUSCH

April 11, 2008

According to PaddockTalk, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and inaugural SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 champion Kurt Busch will take on the role of teacher Friday at Phoenix International Raceway, as he will provide driving instructions to American rock legend Sammy Hagar before Hagar drives the honorary PIR pace car Friday, April 11 at Phoenix International Raceway, before the NASCAR Nationwide Series Bashas' Supermarkets 200.

Busch and Hagar will meet in PIR's Gatorade Victory Lane at 4:30 p.m. on Friday for a photo opportunity and a short lesson.

Hagar will also act as an honorary race official before the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 Sprint Cup Series race, set to run under PIR's bright lights at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. He will then perform a duty unprecedented for those who are not NASCAR officials: Hagar will wave the checkered flag over the winner at the conclusion of the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500.
